House of the week

Did you all know Frank Sinatra owned a house in Weston? Me neither! What is happening in that town? All these strange mansions and celebrity estates. Apparently Frank and Mia Farrow rented it during the 60s. Supercool. All you need is $6M and you can own this place!

6 beds, 8 full and 4 half baths, 12,536 sq ft on 10 acres of land. Taxes $100,558.

Stunning entry with direct river frontage.

It’s a little busy and heavy for me, done by a professional interior designer, you better love the black and white scheme bc it’s everywhere.

60-inch Grand Palais La Cornue six-burner range, a steam oven, warming drawers, Carrara marble and honed Absolute granite countertops, two-story tin ceiling, paneled barrel vault and cove lighting. La Cornue’s Grand Palais range provides your kitchen with six feet of handmade cooktop range, a lava rock grill, electric plates, natural convection gas oven and electric oven. Cast iron, steel, solid brass and porcelain enamel come standard. The base cost is $47,300.

Love this space for storage but I wish they had done either the backsplash or the floor not  both.

Dining room design seems little odd. Doesn’t match the rest of the house.

Well, talk about busy and heavy design! I would have removed these drapes, used lighter colored couches with black and white pillows and throws.

Joy Tribout, one of my favorite interior designers, uses black a lot but in a really chic and tasteful way.

Back to the October Hill house: I think the house was completely renovated in 2010. Not sure if they did anything here. SO much going on.

Much prefer this bath though I am not sure what those dress forms do there.

I think I recognize some pieces from RH here. Hmmmm.

Whichever child is not behaving will get this bathroom.

Much better.

A little English country. There sure is a huge variety of styles to choose from.

I like the bar/pool area and the movie theatre which has candy concession stand, silk wall coverings and a fortune telling machine!

There’s also a Gunite in-ground infinity edge swimming pool; spa; a cabana with a gourmet summer kitchen; and an outdoor fireplace and separate pizza oven.

According to AP News: As one enters this waterfront dream property from the first of two gated driveways, the rear of the house, with its grand staircase and three tiers of hand-quarried Versailles patterned stone porches, comes into view. The long and winding driveway passes along the far side of the river and then crosses the river via the bridge that was specially built to accommodate the weight of emergency vehicles, should they ever need to be called into service.
