Breaking our regular posts to do a PSA on bad news when gardening. 1. Ordering special roses from CA which arrive way early for our zone, it’s still pretty cold at night. Am soaking them in water and fish fertilizer. 2. This worm is a Japanese Beetle waiting to devour your perennials and fruit trees. Crush asap. 3. Moving irises to make room for roses, noticed extensive iris borer damage, all these holes. Into the trash the whole lot.

A day in the life of interior designer/multitasking mama (is there any other?): client meetings, site visits, scheduling building inspections, squeezed in a workout, took a kid to tennis, worked on design concept for our Signal Hill project, quick shower, rollers, picking kids up while emailing w the crew on what’s on the agenda for tomorrow, the off to Middlebrook art show and last but not least to celebrate birthdays with my girls!

Relaxed country estate perfect for the large family to gather. The amount of scaffolding we needed for lights and paint!!! We were in such a rush to get ready, I was on the balcony trying to replace a light bulb while on a ladder. Never again but it turned out beautifully.

Weekends go by so fast. Storm the dog relaxing by the fire.

We updated this hall bath by keeping the layout but full marble walls, niche for all the bath goodies and custom vanity to maximize the storage gives it a luxurious feel.

Time, money and a whole lotta work but look at the difference! I’m a strong believer that house and it’s grounds should be considered as a whole. Both interiors and exteriors should elicit an emotional response.

Some of the fireplace makeovers from our projects. Given what a focal point the fireplace is, it really makes a huge difference.

We have an awkward space in our kitchen area (I wish the entire kitchen filled the space, but a large reno isn’t in the cards right now) that I don’t know what to do with. We have a dining room and we have a breakfast nook so it sits empty. We used to use it as a baby playroom which was perfect when the kids were little, but it’s not needed anymore.
